ALTIG, KEY AND SINGLETON JOIN CHREST ON US ELITE LACROSSE TEAM

FIVE IAAM ALUMS NAMED ON DEVELOPMENTAL SQUAD

US Lacrosse named its Elite
and Developmental lacrosse teams this week, and a number of former IAAM players
were among those selected. Three players were named for the first time to the
Elite team, joining repeat selection Katie
Chrest
(Midfield, Maryvale Prep, Duke ??06).

Amy Altig
(Goalie, Archbishop Spalding, James Madison ??05) and Mary Key (Attack, St. Mary??s, Johns
Hopkins ??07) moved up to the Elite team, and Tara Singleton (M/D, Mercy, Loyola ??04) was also selected.  Key, the nation??s leading
collegiate scorer last season, moved up after a two-year stint on the Developmental
team.

Five IAAM alums made the
Developmental team.  Jess Adam (Midfield,
Severn, Duke ??08), Megan Burker (Attack, Bryn Mawr, Stanford ??06) and Jess Morgan (Defense, McDonogh, Virginia ??07) were all repeat selections. They were joined by
newcomers Kristin Schwab (Midfield,
Friends,
Princeton ??09) and Caitlyn
McFadden
(Midfield, Notre Dame Prep,
Maryland ??10).  Schwab
is a rising junior, while McFadden will be a sophomore in the Fall.

??The women’s national team program is comprised of three teams –
the Elite, the Developmental and the Under-19.  A brief explanation
of each squad appears below.

The Elite
(Standing Team)

The Elite team
represents the highest level of playing experience for women’s lacrosse players
and coaches in the
United States, with the exception of a touring team.
This squad is comprised of individuals who have demonstrated their exceptional
abilities as lacrosse players with regards to skill but also through leadership
and sportsmanship. The Elite squad is designed to prepare and train the best
players in the country to compete against the best collegiate and international
teams in the world.

The Developmental
(Standing Team)

The Developmental team
program serves as a means by which the adult lacrosse player can gain greater
exposure to international competition and continue to develop her skills with
the aim of becoming a member of the Elite or World Cup team. The squad is
selected for a period of one year, annually.

The Under-19 Team
The Under-19 team represents an opportunity for young women to get exposure to
international competition at the National Team level through preparation for
competition at the IFWLA World Championship. The U-19 squad is assembled for
competition in the quadrennial championships, and its members must not have
played at the collegiate level before competing in the World
Championships. A two-year commitment is required from team members.?

The 24-player Developmental team is dominated by current collegiate players
with 17 collegians named to the team. Among the collegians are three players
that just finished their freshmen seasons ?? Penn’s Ali Deluca, Maryland‘s Caitlyn McFadden and
