A FIRST FOR IAAM

St. Paul’s School for Girls to build artificial surface

St. Paul’s School for Girls in Brooklandville
has embarked on a project to install a turf field as part of the school’s
athletic facilities.

The school is the first all-girls’ school in the IAAM to
undertake turf field construction. The field will  accommodate the
field hockey, soccer, and lacrosse teams, accommodate tournament play
and provides rental opportunities.

The initial
$1.3 million project was totally funded through voluntary contributions.
Construction began in June and is ongoing.

The new turf field should be completed
by late fall and will be dedicated at a special ceremony during SPSG Athletic
Hall of Fame activities in April 2008.

-Lem Satterfield

Site preparations are underway as St. Paul’s School for Girls has begun the process of installing a new synthetic turf field on its Brooklandville campus.  When completed, it will be the first turf field built by an all-girls school in the IAAM.
